We have waited, we have reached, we have flown, we have traveled! Our God is a God of miracles! Every day we see and realize more and more how good and merciful the Lord is….
However, we had some adventures: in Tajikistan, the day before the plane, our car was taken away for impounding again! It was badly broken and had been standing under the driveway for over a month, my husband wanted to tow it to the yard of our acquaintances, so as not to leave it on the street for six months. But a towed car is also considered a road user, which means that paying for window tinting is also mandatory. We ran into the same rake again! And again we were not issued an official fine, expecting a bribe. And what to do in such a situation? We decided to leave everything as it is and just fly to Switzerland. We’ll come back in six months and see what happens. At least the car is looked after!
My first plane ride was not easy, but God had provided for everything: we flew in three days before the start of the training so we could get some sleep and acclimatize a little bit. We spent those three days in Zurich visiting our blessed brother Chris, whom God sent to us like an angel! How amazing it is when a person becomes close to our whole family in three days. We are praying for him with joy!
On April 13, we arrived in Wheeler. My first impression of the YWAM base is that I am home. At the entrance it says so: welcome home!
The first week was very intense, everything new and everything in English, I could hardly understand, every night my brain was heavily overloaded. I thought I would never, ever, ever, ever memorize all these rooms-names-schedule. But the second week went by and I had already memorized more than half of them.
This week I caught myself expecting some kind of catch. Everything is so perfect that it’s hard to believe it. But on the other hand, I feel a sense of acceptance here. In the first few days, the headmaster called this place a “safe-place” – and those words resonate in my heart. It is truly a place where I feel safe, where I would like to return periodically to reboot and renew.
How caring our God is…
Of course, it would not be interesting to live without trials at all. That is why we still do not have the money to pay for this training. We were able to raise and pay for 1000 dollars and 300 francs, and we have another 300 francs left for out-of-pocket expenses. We still have to find about 8000 dollars more to pay for the lecture phase, and then to look for finances for the practical phase in Albania. We realize that God has brought us here, He has already seen everything, we have nothing to worry about. But periodically we do worry about it, one at a time: me and my husband. I’m trying to finish my book, see if I can raise some money to sell it. But my busy schedule doesn’t allow me to write every day yet. In general, we don’t know how God will see it through, but we can only trust and wait for the promise.
It’s not hard to wait now, because every day here is filled with God! Every day He leads us by the hand into another little adventure, showing us a piece of His kingdom…
