«For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers» (1 Peter 3:12)
In the first month in Tajikistan, during fasting and prayer, God gave me two words: destroying strongholds. When I shared this short phrase with my brothers and sisters, many questions arose: what kind of strongholds? Ours or the people of Tajikistan? Strongholds in each individual or in society as a whole? Nothing is clear… But God has definitely prepared something interesting for us.
A month later, we encountered some things that are contrary to God, which have taken root in this people and have already become part of the culture. But we still did not see clearly, did not have an exact understanding of which strongholds most of all prevent Tajikistan from accepting the truth. We just kept this topic in our thoughts and prayers and waited for what the Lord would reveal.
And two months later (at the moment when we were already beginning to lose heart) we were told about a local sister from another church. She took a three-day fast a week ago (she didn’t eat anything and didn’t talk to anyone) for her country, for her people. And on the third day, God revealed to her clear points to pray for. She printed them out on paper and distributes them to all brothers and sisters so that everyone prays in unity.
When we heard this, we immediately invited this sister to dinner, talked, prayed together, shared testimonies of God’s glory. This greatly encouraged us, we saw the answer from God to our question about strongholds.
The Holy Spirit also prompted the sister to pray not «against», but «for». So now we pray consistently for three specific things in this country:
- Honesty (stronghold – corruption)
- Purity (stronghold – occult)
- Peace in families (stronghold – violence against women and children)
We ask you to join us in prayers for Tajikistan. Dozens of people are already praying daily for these three points that God has given through the sister. If you can at least sometimes remember these prayer needs, this will already be a great support and a great work for the Kingdom of God!
