Gratitude and plans for 2024

Posted on 13.01.202413.01.2024

Let’s enter the new year with gratitude in our hearts!

December 31 is just a date, another occasion to be with friends, exchange gifts, analyze the past year and sketch out some plans for the near future.

We welcomed the New Year in prayer and thanked God for all that He has brought us through this year. All of our great joys have always started with stresses. Surprisingly, the same events have become our best and worst memories at the same time.

Above all, we are thankful to God for people. For every new acquaintance, every brother and sister, and every still-closed heart of unbelievers that God has given us the opportunity to touch.

We are thankful for the Church in Tajikistan, which is so interesting, in some ways difficult, in some ways incomprehensible, but has already become so dear to us.

We are thankful for individual brothers and sisters from other countries whom we met here in Tajikistan.

We are thankful for a sister from the USA who supports us financially, it is another small miracle in our lives.

Thankful to God for the brothers and sisters from our previous church in Ukraine, for their support and prayers.

Thankful for our parents who are so far away, but hold so much space in our hearts.

We are thankful for the guys from the board games club, for everyone God has brought.

We can’t remember all of them at once, but it is people (not all of them, but each one, each one personally) who are the greatest value to our hearts.

The plans are a little more complicated. So please pray! For God’s guidance that we don’t move anywhere on our own. Right now there are just some outlines that we are considering, but without any clear certainty.

Please pray for the DTS school, if it pleases God, we want to train there and become part of that big family.

We also ask for prayer for the boardgame club, that God will show us what to do with it, whether we should develop it in some way and document it or leave it as it is.

We also ask for prayer for relationships in the church and for the opening of home groups (we believe this is critical for any gathering of believers).

Please pray for the bureaucratic aspects of our stay in Tajikistan. We still have to cross the border every two months and re-register and re-issue car documents, which is not critical, but takes time and money. In addition, we need to get a new passport for our son in February-March.

Also, please pray for the opening of gifts. For example, I have been asked several times to record the testimonies of God’s glory from the war in Ukraine in a small e-book or in a separate section here on the website. But I will not even risk to start it myself, I need a personal word from God, if He really wants it.

And most of all, we ask you to pray for our spiritual growth and following Christ, that we may be transformed into His image, be light and salt in every place and keep peace in our hearts in every situation.

Praying daily for everyone God has given us on this journey through life. Each of you holds a special place in our hearts!

“…we do not cease to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will, in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, that you may walk in a manner worthy of God, pleasing Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:9-10)
